Visual Arts: Sense of Place - ECHL312
In developing a specialised study of a 'sense of place', this unit integrates theory, criticism and practical experience in the visual arts. While initial study is situated within the Australian context, students are encouraged to move a geographical notion of a 'sense of place' into an area of their choice. Students have the opportunity to develop a series of images in response to their visual investigation of this thematic focus. The choice of media depends on students' prior experience. A range of two and three dimensional media is available. While facilities for digital technology are not available, students with an interest in and access to this media are welcome to work with this.
