Family Centred Practice in Early Childhood Contexts - ECH445

This unit adopts an ecological/developmental perspective to enable students to systematically analyse and evaluate issues that may affect optimal family functioning. The important nature of transactional relationships among family members, the child, and professionals for developmental outcomes are investigated. Students identify practices that support the rights of parents to be integrally involved in decisions concerning their child. Within this context, parent-professional partnerships are an important focus for study.
