Frontiers of Astronomy and Astrophysics - ASTR310

We are in the midst of a golden age of Astronomy and Astrophysics, with results streaming in from a host of telescopes, spacecraft and supercomputers. In this unit students have an opportunity to join this voyage of discovery by planning and conducting their own research project under the guidance of an academic staff member. Students will identify a research problem and plan of attack, develop familiarity with the required tools and conduct their research project. Students report on their progress and findings through presentations and written reports.
