The Social Context of Early Childhood - ABEC112
This unit draws on the disciplines of history, anthropology, sociology and developmental psychology in examining influences shaping the early development of children in Australian society. From a broad cross cultural and historical perspective on Australian children and their families, and with particular emphasis on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, the unit goes on to examine the socialisation of young children within the present Australian context.
