Child Abuse and Neglect - PSYS813

This unit examines the factors associated with child abuse and neglect and the interventions used in assessment and treatment of families with multiple needs. It also covers issues related to the development of case plans, referral and liaison with other professionals and agencies involved in their support. Topics include: child abuse and neglect perspectives; legal/ethical issues; drugs/mental health issues and their effects on families and children; interventions with families to address child abuse and neglect issues and early intervention strategies
