International Security Law - PICT906
Thomas Hobbes said "covenants without swords are merely words". This unit examines the legal framework of states and international organisations which has been erected to provide international security. Such issues as the right to use force by states and the United Nations, in matter such as self defence, humanitarian intervention and peacekeeping are studies in detail. Laws against violence by non-state actors are also considered.
