IT Security - PICT825

This unit is an introduction into IT Security technologies and management practices within the Australian public and private sectors. This unit provides a sound understanding of the governing principles behind IT Security, the theory and practice behind technology risks and countermeasures and the role that Security Management plays in the wider picture of Forensics Analysis, Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism.
This unit is a Core unit of both the Postgraduate Certificate in Computer Forensics and the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Forensics program. In recognition of the multi-disciplinary skills that are needed in the computer forensics industry, this unit has been intentionally designed to provide a linkage towards the other core and optional units in the program and thus there is some degree of overlap.
