Museums, Galleries and Collections - MSM804
This unit involves direct engagement with a variety of collecting institutions to assess the cultural/heritage/scientific value of both individual objects and the collections as a whole. The roles of curators and other staff (including volunteers), the range of public programs and the status of information management are analysed and critiques developing insights into the universality of collecting practice, and sector diversity, constraints and opportunities.
