Mathematics Research Project - MATH800
This project is conducted with the supervisor who plans to supervise the higher degree thesis project, and is assessed by a research essay at the conclusion of semester 1 or semester 2. This essay is similar to an Honours essay which includes a study and research of a topic in mathematics at Honours level. The report is assessed by the supervisor and two other staff member in a related research area within the department. A satisfactory grade (Cr equivalent) is a minimum requirement to apply for a higher degree by research in mathematics.
