Legal History Dissertation - LAW884

This unit provides students with an opportunity to develop and demonstrate advanced research skills through a programme involving online seminars, presentations and supervised research, leading to the submission of a 15,000-20,000 word dissertation. Topics may be drawn from any area of legal history and must be presented within their broader context: social, historical, philosophical, economic or political contexts, but particularly within the area of legal history. Particular attention is drawn to the development of viable research questions, appropriate methodological choices, advanced research skills and the dissemination of research through oral presentations and written thesis at a level suitable for publication.
