History of Law in Australia - LAW880

This unit examines the development of statute and case law in Australia. The period covered runs from 1788 to the present. Particular attention is directed to the divergence between the inherited law of England and local legal developments. Stress will be placed on the relationship between the law and the social contexts within which the law was applied.
