Wildlife Survey (Design, Conduct and Interpretation) - GSE856

The unit teaches wildlife survey methods with a focus on more specialised skills in the design, collection and presentation of survey data. Modelling and analysis at a level sophisticated enough to inform wildlife management decisions will be taught. Concepts include capture-mark-recapture, home range analysis and estimating population sizes. The unit focuses on advanced wildlife survey techniques that are usually difficult to gain experience and training in, building on the methods taught in the co-requisite units, and includes hands on experience in these techniques and analysis of survey data.
