Environmental Research-Report - GSE839

This unit requires a dissertation of approximately 6,000 words on an approved subject of student choice covering specific aspect of environmental economics, environmental management, sustainable development, environmental planning, environmental science or environmental/sustainability education. The aim of the unit is to compile an environmental report in either of these forms: a specific case study; review of the science of environmental processes and pollution; evaluation and critical review of an institutional practice or policy; and an empirical economic investigation. The identification of the subject and dissertation content is to be negotiated with the unit convenor prior to commencement of the report and a workplan signed by the student, supervisor and the Head of the Department. Students will work individually under the supervision of a member of staff and/or a suitably qualified external professional.
