Pensions A: Designing and Supervising Pension Schemes - FREG870
This unit examines the Three Pillars of Retirement Income Schemes, different type of pension schemes and the options for industry architecture and presents the case for mandatory retirement savings. It outlines the different types of benefit structures, explains how the target replacement rate is calculated and outlines the different funding arrangements currently in place for pensions and the key components of pension schemes. This unit also outlines and develops approaches to regulating and supervising pension funds, including asset restrictions, controls on management fees, governance requirements, inspections, and intervention options.
