Education and Culture - EDCN818
This unit considers the link between education and culture and the construction and understandings of education as a cultural manifestation and cultural product. To do this it explores the reporting of education in the news, education as entertainment and education via the Internet. Firstly it compares notions of culture and the idea of youth cultures and the ways that culture shapes and is shaped by commercial interests. The unit also looks at film as one way that students (among others) draw on cultural material.
