Ethical Perspectives on Economics - ECON883

This unit examines the relationship between moral and political philosophy and economic theory with a view to a richer understanding of contentious policy issues. Topics covered include the meaning of 'welfare' in economics, distributive justice and economic theory, "rationality" and its ethical overtones, the relationship of agency and freedom to wellbeing.
