Towards an Inclusive Australia - CRSI800
What does it mean to be 'included' in a society? Who decides what counts as 'included', and how included is enough? Does being included mean being treated the same as everyone else, and, if not, how do we work out who is entitled to what? Is inclusion just another form of assimilation? What is an inclusive school? workplace? aged care? welfare service? And inclusion exclusion extend way beyond local communities. We consider the relationship between humans and their non-human environment, on one hand, and, on the other, the plight of refugees and the problem of international boundaries. In a world where we are all connected, inclusion and exclusion affect us all.
