Advanced Hearing Devices - CAUD818
This unit aims to equip students with a deep understanding of, and the ability to evaluate the applications of hearing aids, implantable devices, and resistive listening systems. The course aims to develop students understanding of the mechanisms by which hearing devices meet the needs of hearing impaired people and the evidence for the various technologies effectiveness. In a wider sense this unit aims to equip students with the skills and information needed to evaluate existing and emerging hearing device technologies in order to assist them in their endeavour to provide evidence based treatment to their (future) clients. This unit builds on the basic skills taught in the CAUD805 introductory hearing aid lectures.
