MAS110: Introduction to Digital Media Production

The aim of this unit is to introduce students to digital media production in the contemporary context of media convergence and participatory culture. It is informed by new developments in media technologies across text, photomedia, video, music and sound. The focus of assignment work is towards small scale digital media productions for Web 2.0. Basic skills in digital media production are taught in a digital media lab environment. The unit combines work on the conceptual, aesthetic and technical elements of new digital media. It takes an interdisciplinary view with a focus towards innovative digital media practices.
