LAW315: Constitutional Law and Administration II
The first part of this unit assesses the extent to which the Commonwealth and State constitutions provide, expressly or by implication, for basic rights and freedoms—and how it may be desirable to supplement these constitutions with bills of rights. A second and larger part discusses administrative law. That is, how far public and private organisations are required by law—through which individuals have recourse to courts, tribunals and ombudsman offices—to exercise their legally conferred powers and to do so honestly, fairly and in accordance with freedom of information.
