CUL232: Rehearsing Lives
How do actors rehearse for theatre, film and television? how do we prepare to perform day to day? And how can we write dynamically about bodies-in-training? Through workshop exercises and critical reflection, students learn rehearsal techniques of professional performers, as well as how we 'rehearse' for events in our everyday lives: from the way doctors train to deal with patients, to the way people prepare to perform in job interviews. Throughout the unit, students are encouraged to use their rehearsal analysis skills to develop their literary non-fiction writing.
