BUSL222: Foundations in Human Resources Law
This unit provides a foundation for law with an emphasis on human resources law. The areas that will be covered in the subject include: the Australian legal system, development of human resources law, criminal law, tort law and introduction to contract law. At the end of this unit students will be able to explain how laws are made and enforced, describe the differences between legal systems around the world, explain the principal rules that will apply to Human Resources contracts and tortious actions, and their application to different types of businesses, analyse the legal aspects of particular case studies relevant to human resources law and critically assess and make judgments on the merits of legal arguments. The unit provides students with a grounding In human resources law that will assist them future management careers.
