BIOL360: Biology of Australasian Vertebrates

In this unit lectures include a survey of Australasian terrestrial vertebrates, both native and introduced. Topics cover biogeography, ecology, genetics, nutrition, anatomy, reproductive biology, behaviour, evolution, population management and conservation. Practical work centres on field techniques, wildlife handling and behavioural observations. Lectures are given twice a week but there are no weekly practicals. Practical work, for both internal and external students, is carried out in a compulsory block practical session held at Macquarie University laboratories, zoological parks and in the field.
