SOC182: Economy and Society
This introductory unit analyses the workings of the economy from a sociological perspective. We consider a number of key contemporary issues including inequality, economic instability, environmental sustainability and consumerism. We also address the role of key institutions such as the market, the state, the corporation and the family. The unit equips you with the tools and understanding to engage in contemporary debates about our economy and its social impacts
