MHPG844: History, Culture and Museum Studies

The unit examines the evolution of the museum in society and encourages a critical examination of its role in defining and shaping national and local perceptions of history and culture, with particular reference to Australia. The unit also offers a skills-based component that considers the use of alternative sources, especially the material evidence of the past.
