LIT804: Twentieth Century Literature

This unit offers a detailed overview of the key issues and movements that have shaped -- and been shaped by -- the poetry, fiction and non-fiction of the last century. It aims to situate literary works in their fullest possible context, following developments from the radical formal innovations in the early decades of the century through to the more pensive, ethically responsive texts of the post-war years.
