GSE808: Management of Degraded Environments
This interdisciplinary unit examines degraded environments that result from the impact of human activities and remediation options. It covers mining impacts and rehabilitation strategies; rural land degradation and its remediation; and urban soil contamination and remediation. Three days of field trips to view rehabilitation of contaminated urban and mine sites and rural land management methods are included.
Note: permission to complete the unit without completion of GSE803 as a prerequisite will only be granted if the student has completed a science-based degree.
