AHPG830: Rome History Studies: Cities of the Roman Near East

This unit builds on the Department of Ancient History's continuing fieldwork in the Near East and aims to combine Archaeology with Ancient History in the study of a number of key cities of the Roman Near East. Students will be given the opportunity to learn how to evaluate archaeological evidence against extant literary sources. Students who have taken AHPG824 Greece and Rome: Caravan Cities are permitted to enrol in this unit to tackle new topics and cities (and to play a leading role in discussions!)
