AABS805: Advanced Abdominal Surgical Procedures 5

This clinical unit is built around a set of learning outcomes, descriptions of what students will do in their daily clinical practice. These learning outcomes form the basis for on-the-job competency-based assessment, both formative and summative, in the consulting room, operating room and ward. Students who enrol in this program will be experienced surgeons who already have a specialist qualification and who wish to acquire additional expertise in a subspecialty within their chosen specialty. They will undertake pre-operative evaluation and operative and peri-operative management of patients, with the relevant clinical condition, or undergoing relevant surgical procedure at the level of performance expected of a subspecialist surgeon.
