Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology
Abbreviation: PGDipPsych
Description
The course is recognised by the NSW Psychologists Registration Board as constituting a 'Fourth Year' in Psychology and has accreditation from the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). Graduates of Macquarie 'Fourth Year' awards are equipped with advanced level skills in research design, methodology and analysis, with practice-oriented theoretical skills, and generic interpersonal competencies to allow them to gain employment in a variety of psychological or psychology-related professions. Please note: Prospective students need to fully understand the time commitment involved in undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology program. The coursework and Research Project (PSYC943) student load are equivalent to an Honours program, and therefore require a substantial time commitment throughout the year. These considerations apply particularly to the full year unit PSYC943 which is weighted at 17 credit points. Students who anticipate a full-time work arrangement are strongly encouraged to consider part-time enrolment in the program.
