LAW435: Comparative Legal History
The Common Law spread across the globe in the wake of British colonial expansion. But the Common Law system adapted to different colonial circumstances. Legal development diverged in subtle, yet important, ways. This unit examines the history of selected legal issues in comparative context. Australian legal development is compared with other common law jurisdictions, including Canada and the United States of America.
