ICOM301: Global Knowledge Society
This unit discusses critically the use of technologies of international communication by international actors such as states, corporations and non-government organisations in an emerging global knowledge society. Changes in the balance of power between different kinds of actors under the impact of globalisation are examined, as are the different strategies by which organisations seek to deploy knowledge, communication and media strategies to enhance their interests.
