ENV201: Environmental Economics

This unit explores the basic premise that the environment is integral to the economic system and needs to be incorporated as such to move towards a sustainable society. However, incorporating the environment into conventional economic systems is not straightforward, as often environmental factors can not be included in short term market transactions. Various methods of incorporating the environment into a market model are considered, to provide an introduction to environmental policies that ensure sustainability of natural environments.
