AHIS278: Egyptian Hieroglyphs A
This unit introduces students to Middle Egyptian, the classical language of Ancient Egypt. This was the language of the Middle Kingdom and the early New Kingdom but it remained in use in religious and literary texts as long as the Egyptian civilisation survived. The understanding of Middle Egyptian is essential of earlier and later stages of this language.
