TRAN858: Teaching Translation

This unit introduces students to pedagogical approaches that are considered to be the benchmark in teaching translation. The course is underpinned by international research findings in translation studies on the cognitive process, skills and techniques used by translators. The course will also focus on aspects of quality in translation and both summative and formative methods of evaluation of quality in translation. Students will be encouraged to reflect on the application of the relevant pedagogical approaches and research findings to practice and in particular to their own teaching.
