TRAN852: Auslan Interpreting in Educational Settings

The aim of this unit is to provide Auslan interpreting students with the opportunity to discuss and practice advanced interpreting skills in the specialised area of educational interpreting. Students will analyse the complex linguistic, cultural and ethical challenges for interpreting in educational settings at primary, secondary and tertiary level with consideration given to a range of issues. Students will explore the theoretical foundations of the role of the interpreter, duty of care, preparation techniques and interpreting strategies.
