MIST812: Decision Support Systems
Decision support systems provide opportunities for evidence based decision making in modern organisations. The decision support systems studied in this unit are computer-based and help students to manipulate data extracted from different sources which may be internal or external to an organisation. The topics covered in this unit are: data warehousing and data marts, online analytic processing, data mining (i.e. classification, market segmentation -- cluster analysis and market basket analysis), and geographic information systems. The unit will be taught using modern software.
