LAW853: Comparative Environmental Law

This unit examines the different legal systems in the world today and the role of comparative legal study. This unit examines domestic environmental law in civil law, common law and other forms of legal systems including both substantive and procedural aspects relating to environmental management. The focus will be upon comparative development of environmental law in the European Union, North and South America, Asia and the Pacific Region. The unit will emphasise culturally specific approaches to environmental law and challenges that remain in the context of an increasingly globalised world.
