INOV802: Intellectual Property Creation, Strategy and Management

The unit is targeted at the intellectual property issues involved in ideas, invention and research, where new ideas are created which need to be protected, licensed, sold or developed into commercial products and services. It also addresses the important elements of managing and the strategies associated with the intangible aspects of a company or organisation. The aim of the unit is to provide students with the basis for dealing with intellectual property lawyers. A key theme through the unit is technology contracts and how these are relevant in intellectual property issues.
