ICOM814: Development Communication

The unit comprises three main parts, all underpinned with relevant case studies. Firstly, it includes a study of the origins, growth and development of the area of human activity traditionally known as Development Communication (DevComm). Secondly, it involves students, theoretically and practically, in the area of DevComm referred to as "Development Journalism". Thirdly, it includes elements of "Participatory Communication" in theory and practice.
