GSE831: International Agreements and the Environment

This unit is a conceptual and historical introduction to international agreements, policy and law relating to the environment. Instruments dealt with include those in the areas of climate and atmosphere; oceans and seas; biodiversity; flora and fauna; and dangerous waste materials. The impact on environmental matters of global institutions such as the World Trade Organisation, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Global Environmental Facility is covered.
