GEOS827: Tectonics of the Earth
Integrated geophysical, petrological and stratigraphic methodologies are used to explore the tectonics of the Earth. Recent advances in the understanding of the structure, composition and history of the lithosphere, asthenosphere and mantle are presented. Continental reconstructions through time as inferred from geophysical, palaeomagnetic and geological evidence are discussed.
