ACES805: Current Topics in Education 2
This unit is designed to develop an understanding of coaching and its application as a leadership and professional development tool in educational settings. It begins by establishing a solid theoretical basis for the creation of a climate in which coaching relationships in school settings contribute to the development of distributed leadership and positive learning organisation cultures. It explores coaching in action and considers the value of applied coaching strategies. The unit concludes by considering coaching as a tool to drive school improvement. This unit reflects the growing presence of coaching as a leadership tool in the corporate and business world and applies it to the field of educational practice.
