Interpreting Practice 3 - TRAN882
The aim of this unit is to provide students with opportunities to practice interpreting skills in linguistically sophisticated and potentially challenging arenas at a professional level. Students are expected to apply theoretical knowledge to the critical analysis of their interpreting skills and decisions, while defining appropriate interpreting strategies through class and self-study. This unit consists of practical as well as research components. It provides students with opportunities to practice interpreting in a wide range of topic areas in the form of longer consecutive interpreting. Also included in the unit is an introduction to simultaneous interpreting. Through generic lectures, students should conduct independent research related to the interpreting practice of their own language pairs.
