Overview and Aims of the Program The Master of Environment is a multidisciplinary program oriented towards understanding and responding to issues emerging around human-environment interactions. Students gain skills and knowledge regarding the social and bio-physical drivers of environmental change and are trained in seeking solutions. Macquarie offers a broad range of multidisciplinary subjects to choose from which enables students to develop holistic understandings of the environment that involve both social and physical sciences while also enabling specialisation in particular fields. The two required units ensure Macquarie graduates gain critical thinking skills by engaging the core philosophies underlying environmental concerns as well as practical research skills through a week long field trip out of Sydney. Our graduates are trained to address the ongoing and emerging environmental challenges of the twenty first century.
